I went back to a snapshot and everything is good. When I tried to boot it gets to the black "Starting Windows" screen where the logo colors fly together but as soon as the 1st pixel of red for the logo appears it hangs and the VM turns off within a few seconds. I selected Shutdown and it installed the 2 new recommended updates I installed Office 07 (32 BIT) and it appeared I now needed an additional 2 recommended updates
I downloaded all recommended updates with Microsoft Update (everything was good but note this is MS Update not just Windows Update) I just downloaded VirtualBox on Sat June 5th 2010 so it would be the latest released version.
